Setting up Loopback Adapter for Microsoft Win7

Start->cmd->Run as Administrator

 

1. on CMD: type hdwwiz.exe

2. Next

3. Select “Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)” and click Next.

4. Network Adapters

5. Microsoft -> Microsoft Loopback Adapter

6. Next Next Finish

 

It should appear on your network and Sharing Center window now as another Local area connection.

Rename it to something as MS Loopback so that you won't be confused. Configure it with an ip address.

Reboot your PC, once you're done rebooting, Open GNS3 as administrator (you can right click and set this automatically on properties->Compatibility tab.

Now, you can open the Loopback adapter as one of the options in the drop down of the cloud.
